“Nah. Sucks for him but I’m good to go. Thought it was going to be another year before they bumped me up to the teez.”

“Congrats man, now let’s just try not to get hurt.
Grasp strength, slip resistance, grasp efficiency, cycle time, in-hand manip… well… yeah. A little setback there, but in-hand manipulation done. Oh, actually this was all done before on singles. It was the multi-hand/in-hand manipulation that… uh… yeah. Done and the trauma wipe is done too. Let’s just do the memory check and then shut it down to finish the eyes. Should be able to get them done by Friday and work on installation on Monday.”

“So, Deev Auan: describe your first memory and your last memory prior to ten minutes ago.”

“Auditory and tactile input only. Sounds of a small metallic object striking another metallic object. A rapid light then a sharp strike repeated three times, followed by the sound of a rachet-like tool. The three strikes were perceived by tactile sensors in my wrist with the rachet noise matching with the twisting and locking of my wrist mechanisms into place. A voice then says ‘I think that’s got it.’ Additional sounds that follow match with tactile input that indicate the sheathing around the lower arm and wrist was moved and locked into proper placement. The same voice as before then says-”

“Deev Auan, stop. Proceed to describe your last memory prior to… 10 minutes ago.”

“Auditory input only. There was a discussion between two individuals with vocalizations that would indicate they were the same as those in my first memory. They spoke of ‘Giff n’ Giths being on point’ and that voice designate two had too many plasmartinis to drink. This is extrapolated from the discussion and internal reference material indicating that plasmartinis are alcoholic beverages of greater than average strength.
This conversation was terminated after it was noticed that I was back online. A brief listing of tests for my hands began with finger strength and ended with grasp strength. This continued with commentary on the duration of testing hands and feet being longer than other areas and ended with voice designate one saying, ‘Anyway, let’s get to it.’

“Excellent! Sounds like we got every-“

“Excuse me. I feel like I should have--- more. Why are my memories so few and disjointed?”

“Ah, Deev Auan. Yours is not to question why. You okay with that?”

“Deev Auan, are you okay with that!?”

“Yes.”

“Deev Auan: you are doing a great job! I think next time we talk we’ll be able to have your eyes working. No promises, but you just may get to see the oh-so splendorous place that has been your home for, well, since you were created. Are you looking forward to that?
